These rankings come as no surprise to the residents in Apex who are familiar with the town’s hometown way of life. There’s always something to celebrate in Apex. Downtown Apex has gone through a huge revitalization which has brought along with it, fabulous dining like Peak City Grill and the Blistered Pig down the street and dozens of other shops. Downtown Apex hosts one Festival and there are even more events happening throughout the town on any given weekend as their heritage is important to Apex residents. Cultural events are the most popular- from Apex Founders Day in March to the Apex Latino Arts Festival in June when Apex with names of number one place to live in 2015 the town celebrated with a Peak-palooza. How much fun is that? Plus other popular events you don’t want to miss anything such as Peak City Pig Fest and Christmas on Salem Street or you can go spend the day in a park. If you want to spend the day at the beach but you don’t want to drive more than an hour just head over to Jordan Lake in Apex. There’s so much more that I could say about this town but the best way for you to get to know Apex is to see it for yourself. Train Station - Passenger Depot In Apex, NC

In Apex, NC, for three seasons of the year it’s Farmers Market Day at the old train depot turned Chamber of Commerce building. Across the street that coffee shop is bustling and very shortly the rest of downtown businesses in these pretty brick buildings will be doing the same but what we are fortunate enough to have here is the result of two catastrophes in 1905 and 1911 Downtown Apex was longer when wooden structures downtown burned in two fires within 6 years. Apex didn’t feel so lucky back in 1911 I’m sure, but they made a critical decision to rebuild only with fireproof brick. That means downtown Apex is essentially the same as when rebuilt- frozen in time. I think we really got something going here we’ve got a story to tell and that’s the thing the history of Apex had got started and had build up over the years. Town Ambassador JC Knowls and Mayor, Lance Alto can both remember a time when these buildings were nowhere near Peak capacity. Come into the town where a lot of businesses either moved out or kind of got run out by the bigger suppliers- people who can buy a hundred of something and put them on the shelf. In the late 90s or early 2000s we started seeing some reinvestment in the downtown buildings so what we found here that works for us is that the town understands that the downtown is valuable and so we make sure we do Investments like the light poles and clean the streets and making sure we have nice trash cans and Ice benches and we make it a nice pleasant place to be so we still have that old country atmosphere. Downtown it’s a family-friendly downtown. We get people coming here from Pittsboro from Garner from Zebulon, even as far down as Henderson I had people from Siler City coming all the way up here or Sanford just to spend a lunch and a shopping day. I’m from here so I just kind of had a vision for the little historic district and luckily I get to be a part of keeping Apex a great place to call home.
